Status Update

March 13th, 2012

I’ll freely admit it. I don’t have the time to do a comic. I’ve tried it over and over with middling success and hit a time management wall every time.

Writing has always been more of an interest for me anyways, which is why you’re seeing this. I’m doing this as a sort of motivational kick in the pants. The John Reynolds story started as a book idea that I then switched to a comic. I’m now in the process of tapping out the story in novel form on my iPad whenever I get a free moment. Because of the way my schedule works I have more little free moments to pull out the keyboard and iPad for a bit of writing than I did for drawing.

Right now I’m putting the finishing touches on an outline that looks to be the size of a small novella on its own before I finish it up. I’ll be posting status updates on my progress as well as tiny snippets of what I’ve written that I’m particularly proud of.

I go into this knowing the realities of the publishing industry right now and that anything I write will be lucky to see the light of day outside of this little corner of the Internet, but writing is just something that I do. I’ve always been compelled to it since I was in the fourth grade and I started my first “book” which was a terrible plagiarized amalgamation of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring.

If anyone out there in the viewing audience considers themselves a bit of a writer or would be interested in being an alpha reader then let me know. Maybe we can set up an online fantasy writing group.

That’s enough blathering on for now. See you all at the next update.
